  • In this case, the anamorphic object is not a drawing but an experience

  • Openings are carved out into the building mass (hence irregular form) to shape the cone of vision to the clear sky. This allows visitors to experience nothing but the perfectly framed view of the open sky, allowing for a moment, devoid of all the chaos present within the site.

Anamorphosis can be seen to use perspective constructions to create an illusion. The viewer is presented with something that does not make sense when viewed conventionally, and so they must seek out the unconventional viewpoint.

In order to unravel an anamorphic image, the subject’s relationship to the object of vision must be altered. For the viewer to observe anamorphic image, they must become willing to sacrifice a centric vintage point for the possibility of catching the uncanny.

The form created allows the viewer to become part of the process to create an image, therefore becoming part of the final product. It is for the possibility of this outcome that anamorphosis is used as a tool in the architectural proposal.
